Volunteer

Want to meet great people, make a difference in your community and even potentially travel? BC Wheelchair Sports Association is currently seeking enthusiastic volunteers to meet a wide variety of needs including: coaches, practice assistants, scorekeepers, referees, drivers, tournament organizers, and much more.

You don't need any special skills and you don't have to be athletic. All you need is a desire to give back to the community. To take your first steps, contact Lisa Myers at 604-333-3520 ext. 209 or programs@bcwheelchairsports.com.

Meet Our Volunteers

Lou

Lou has been volunteering with wheelchair athletics for many years. He's always happy to fill in when a coach can't make it to practice and do whatever is needed. Lou took the time out of his busy schedule to answer a few questions about why he volunteers:

Why did you start volunteering with BCWSA?
I started volunteering as a way to give back. Volunteers were there for me when I was first injured and getting involved in sports.

What keeps you volunteering with BCWSA?

I love coming out and hanging out with the group!

What is your most memorable volunteering moment?

Watching all of the athletes strive to excel.

Do you have any suggestions or word of advice for people who would like to start volunteering with BCWSA?

My advice is to come help. Without volunteers, events and activities are impossible to put on.

  1. Lou is the best, a very dedicated nice person. I meet him at GF Strong and he quickly became involved in sports and is a great athlete. Nice to see you are volunteering with such a great organization. I recommend BCWS for anyone who is looking for a fun place to volunteer.
