Donate

Your donations help BC Wheelchair Sports Association provide quality wheelchair sports opportunities to people with physical disabilities across the province. Every year, we help hundreds of people with disabilities -- from the junior to the recreational to the elite level -- to live active, healthy lifestyles. Donations fund our many sports programs, purchase wheelchairs and other adaptive equipment, fund our Junior Sport Camp, help athletes travel to competitions and much, much more.

When you support wheelchair sports, you help athletes both on and off the court. People with disabilities who play wheelchair sports:
  • are more likely to be employed;
  • have more friends;
  • have fewer hospital stays;
  • have fewer secondary health complications;
  • have less stress, depression and anxiety;
  • are more involved in their community;
  • have more independence;
  • are more likely to travel;
  • have higher confidence;
  • have less body fat;
  • have greater muscle mass;
  • and have a better quality of life than inactive peers.

 There are several ways to support BC Wheelchair Sports Association:

Join Our Monthly Donor Club

Even a few dollars a month helps BCWSA to reach more people with disabilities. As a monthly donor, you will never receive mailings asking for a contribution, saving us printing and postage costs, as well as reducing the amount of paper used. You will also provide us with revenue we can count on for our programs for the foreseeable future. When you join the Monthly Donor Club, you can choose to receive newsletters and updates about how your generous gift is being used. And best of all: you will receive a tax receipt for your donation and you can cancel any time you like.

Make A One-Time Donation

We value all donations. Donations to BCWSA over $10 will receive a tax receipt and you can sign up to receive our newsletter and other updates. You can donate in one of two ways:
  • By donating online via CanadaHelps.
  • By calling our office. We can process credit cards and help you pay by cheque. Just call Lisa Myers at 604-333-3520 ext. 209 or email her at programs@bcwheelchairsports.com.

Make a Planned Giving or In Memoriam Donation

 Honour a loved one with an in memoriam donation. We can work with you to find personalized ways to celebrate a loved one's legacy. We can also discuss with you the many planned giving options available to you.

To discuss planned giving or in memoriam donations, please contact Gail Hamamoto, Executive Director at 604-333-3520 ext. 201 or gail@bcwheelchairsports.com.

 Thank you for your interest in BCWSA. We appreciate your generosity. Together, we can ensure that all people with disabilities experience the many health benefits of physical activity!
